Kitty spy cam

For me, the toughest thing about going on a long trip, is leaving behind the little kitty that I adore, who trusts only me and Mr. F. - even though we've hired a wonderful woman who will make very sure that she's cared for.

I am told that animals have no concept of time...one minute, one day, one week, no difference. I don't buy that. To give her the sense that I'm still around, I will be leaving T-shirts of mine in all her favorite places.

To give me a sense of not being 10,000 miles away, I have set up my web cam, pointed at her favorite pillow in my office. Mr. F's brilliant idea was to set up Skype to answer automatically when we call...how cool, now I can dial in any time and feel reassured seeing her asleep or feel worried, wondering why she's not on the pillow.

Hmmm....peace of mind? Perhaps not.
