Blackbird Love Actually

I noticed this blackbird's unusual behaviour on our walk this morning. It had a very earnest look about it and was singing beautiful snippets sotto voce, hardly opening its beak. It kept dipping, bowing and spreading its tail feathers. Then I spotted a female lower down in the bush. (I've added a rubbish pic to extras as I have some in hand.)  I guessed that this might be courtship behaviour and it seems that it is. I read on Twitter the other day that many robins have already paired up even though they don't start nesting for months.
