New walkway

On last Friday, the restored Meelick weir with a new walkway was opened to the public.  It replaces the original one which dates back to the 1790s when the Shannon Navigation was built, and which was damaged severely in floods in 2009.  The walkway is about 300 metres in length and links the village of Meelick to Victoria Lock.
