Narcissi

Every year Mrs S has received a generous gift of a box of narcissi. But this year no such box had arrived. Never fear! - there was a knock on the door this evening and the delivery man handed over a box from the Isles of Scilly bursting to be opened. And there were white and yellow narcissi. Loads of them with little flowers smiling out.

They had a scheduled delivery date of 22 December which was duly achieved. What an amazing accomplishment to send a symbol of joy and optimism from a far flung island in the Channel to London and for it to arrive on time with everything that is going on at the moment.

It was an emotional moment because they seem to be calling out a message that things will get better and that we will be alright. Their pretty little faces and wonderful scent are now smiling at us from vases on the mantlepiece.
