Eyes ....

I love to look into horses eyes (in fact any animals eyes). The eyes are so beautiful and as I look into them, I love to dwell on who that animal is, how they feel and what their life is like. Eyes are the mirror to the soul.

Mr H and I went for a walk this morning. We had planned a trip up to the North Norfolk coast but something stopped us venturing so far, so we stayed local. I think we recognised that with feeling the pain of losing Little Man, we need the comfort of familiar surroundings.

We walked where we have walked hundreds of times with Harris (and Josie) - round the grounds of the UEA (University of East Anglia). It is a favourite place for dog walkers and we knew there would be lots of people and their dogs out and about.

Seeing so many dogs was strangely a comfortable feeling and an uncomfortable one at the same time. We fussed every dog we saw, exchanging pleasantries with their owners, but not once did we share our sad news; we wanted to be happy on our walk, celebrating the good times that we have had walking Harris round the UEA.

We chose a route which goes past fields where there are ponies and donkeys grazing. These lucky animals are extremely well looked after by 'LittleTinkers', a rescue centre for shetland ponies and donkeys.

The photo I have chosen to show you is of Daisy. Take a moment to look at the others, they are all gorgeous!

Saturday morning walks will never be the same again without our Little Man, but today Mr H and I have discovered that we can still enjoy them.
