After the storms

After the recent bad weather there are quite a few battered and broken lobster creels scattered along the shore, several with their buoys and ropes still attached. I always have a good look at them, just to make sure there is nothing tangled up in them. It's not unknown for local cats to get trapped in creels. They are enticed in by fishy remains, and can't get back out.

Quite often you find sea birds caught up in the ropes. It's interesting to see what sort they are and if they've been ringed. Nothing in this tangle - but it made for a bright and colourful blip on this lovely sunny but very cold day.
