Looking out, looking in.
The wreaths the grandchildren made, which arrived yesterday in the post, looked best when it was dark last night, so I took the photo then.
They look so cheerful hanging by the front window.
I took it looking through the window to the outside, so you can see the lights on the side of the porch on the left.
I like the way you can also see into the room from its reflection.
Here it is now 9.30 a.m and very mistily gloomy.
The family of sparrows are congregated in the bushes across the road chirping and cheeping noisily to each other.
The fox was out before it was daylight. I could hear him as I was lying in bed after waking just after 6.00 am. He was making all kinds of strangled yelps, barks, and grunts. It’s mating season and he was on the prowl. There has been a fox den in the grounds of the school opposite for years, and we have now lived here in this house for 39 of them.
They used to wander across the road sometimes during the day and go up
our drive and along the garden path early on. Until we had a side gate fitted by the garage. Then they found they could squeeze up between the garage and our next door neighbours boundary fence and carry on up the garden.
So their route is still the same..
It is very mild outside.
Just keeping a tentative eye on the news occasionally as there is talk of either a national lockdown or Tier 4 for our area..
