Merry Christmas

That’s it, what’s undone has now to be left undone, what we don’t have we will have to do without. Until Saturday. It’s only a day.

We had a fine walk in sunny if cold conditions up to the Downs. Plenty out and about walking, plenty in cars too. It transpired there was an explanation for all last night’s traffics. The M20 eastbound was closed for truck parking (see extra) meaning traffic being diverted along the A20 meaning some motorists choosing to come through the village instead of sticking to the main A20. No excuse for speeding though.

This afternoon while Susan made a batch of mince pies I went out for a walk with son Matt and the dog Winnie. Granddaughter Miya chose not the come claiming not to like walking. It’s the first time we’ve seen Matt since last March. Who knows when we’ll see Miya?

We called in at the allotment at the end of our walk to collect sprouts, carrots and parsnips for Christmas dinner. Always very satisfying to have your own roast potatoes and veg for dinner.

I’ve just put a batch of cheese and marmite sausage rolls in the oven. They smell good. Pizza and salad for tea.

Today’s blip is of Susan’s 2020 Christmas card. It’s posted to you all with our very best wishes for the best Christmas you can have.
