Its the Way It Is

Happy Christmas

Nollaig Shona

to all blippers near and far

dear diary: I had an early swim, brisk walk in the cold sea air, worked a half day, last minute shopping in Supervalu, gift wrapping, fairy lights, tasty grub, watched It’s a Wonderful Life, Hannah’s arrival home, comfy dogs, turf fire. The run up to Christmas was always a time I enjoyed.

My main blip is of the little gift I gave to each of the 7 tinys on my road. It’s lovely isn’t it. The extra is of the dogs who are wondering what all the fuss is about and second extra is Hannah just in the door after cycling from Kilbarrack. The dogs love her but she is saying Vince will have to lose weight - ooops.

I won’t be blipping tomorrow as I want to just go on the doss and spend time with the daughter. She has agreed to come for an early swim (that’s not going to happen though) and visit her Dad’s grave and leave some flowers and pray for him. We can’t go to Mass because of Covid so will watch carols on the tv.

Normally people visit today and come and go and have a glass of port and a ham sandwich and lots of chat. Not this year. I miss this. I really miss this.

Happy Christmas from my corner of South Dublin - a nice place to be
