Freedom!

The statue of William Wallace, overlooking the Tweed and the Eildons. 

We went out for breakfast this morning, back to Born in Scotland (there's not a huge amount of choice here, especially now, with visitors more or less banned). I didn't take any shots of the decor, so you are spared Billy Connolly and Shaun Connery ....). 

The breakfast was good, and substantial, and we needed a walk ... so we headed into the hills. It was bracing, icy puddles to skate over, and a dusting of snow on the Cheviot. 

A lot of work has been done on the Wallace statue. The scrub around it has been cleared and a very good footpath installed. I appreciated that, as I was wearing my going-out boots ...  

Tomorrow will be a day at home, and lockdown starts on Boxing Day, so maybe Wallace's statue is appropriate for today ....
