Stars of wonder

I have very poor eyesight so the glories of the heavens are usually denied to me, especially with the light pollution obscuring the stars  even to the sharpest vision. But this Christmas morn on a cold clear night even I could see Orion's belt - presaging...what? An omen like the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn full of promise or doom? Maybe even a new Messiah come to give a stricken and corrupt humanity a second chance?
Who knows but
