JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

It is certainly a different Christmas for many of us this year, but nevertheless, we will still celebrate the birth of Jesus and wish all our Blip friends a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

As I was peeling the parsnips this morning, I was listening to the Radio 4 Christmas Morning Service and these words resonated with me, speaking of the different tiers in the UK at the moment : “Tiers of one sort have been changed into tears of another sort” .  So we think today of those who will be tearful, for many reasons - being apart from their families, mourning the loss of a loved one or perhaps having to spend Christmas on their own.

Our beautiful Nativity Set, which is now well over 50 years old, given to us by Mr. HCB’s parents when we were first married, still has pride of place on our mantelpiece and reminds us that Jesus is indeed the reason for the season.

We pray that those who are unhappy, feeling lonely or separated from their families and friends because of this pandemic will know the love, peace, joy and hope of the Christ Child this Christmas.
