Christ Child Pie

This mincemeat pie (vegetarian) recipe was a fair amount of work, but rather fun. The crust, on the other hand, was a bear. I used a recipe I've used for decades, but somehow this time it was so unwieldy. So much so, that I opted for the little cookie cutter figures rather than trying for long strips for a lattice top. Then, as I cut them out, the name Christ Child Pie popped into my head. Can you tell I've always been a bit resentful of how boys, men, males have so dominated a perfectly good story?
