Christmas lunch in the snow ....

for the last 30 years we’ve had Christmas dinner with our girls. And then their boyfriends who became husbands. And then grandchild ..... but this year is different. Dave and Rosie are in isolation due to Covid. Polly, Matt & Ollie have been in isolation but are now in tier 4 in London. So it’s different. Whilst we miss our family terribly, we’re mindful of what we do have and not just what we’re missing out.

We’re grateful for health and security and loved ones and safety. And we’re very grateful for the many who are sacrificing so much to try to keep us all as safe as possible. And I’m very grateful for 33 years of marriage, for the most wonderful life-long partner who makes every day brighter.
And I’m grateful for this little bit of Yorkshire that’s become home. For it’s beauty, honesty & charm.

There’s an old song that asks us to “count our blessings, name them one by one ..... “
I think I’m beginning to see the joy of doing this.

Happy Christmas everybody!
