Step into Christmas...
Merry Christmas!
It's almost over but what a wonderful day it has been.
Got a message from Nikki first thing with the photo of Esme in extras. She loves her blankie. That made me very happy :-))
Christine arrived at 11am just as Ala was thinking about getting up! We all piled into his room, Lola as well and the day began.
Through to Alan's living room, Christmas songs on the tv, prosecco to enjoy, disco lights flashing and present opening. Great fun! And oh my, we must all have been very good this year. Santa brought the most wonderful, thoughtful gifts. Tears in my eyes more than once.
Present opening done, time for coffee, bagels, bacon and maple syrup. Afterwards Alan watched Christmas movies with Christine, David took Lola for a walk on the golf course, and I put my feet up and exchanged messages with family and friends and watched Ladbaby crying his eyes out at being the Christmas No 1 for the third year running with his charity single Don't Stop Me Eatin', which raises money for the Trussell Trust food bank charity. Fantastic!
Then time to make the final dinner prep. This has been once of the tastiest and most hassle free Christmas dinners I've ever made. Delicious pate from our local deli, slow cooked shoulder of lamb, dauphinoise potatoes and roasted veg and keylime pie. Prep all done in advance with just the potatoes to make from scratch, which took 10 minutes then into the oven.
David and Christine managed to have some keylime pie but I had no space left.
Wonderfully lazy evening yes I dosed off :-)) And now a nightcap in front of some Christmas telly.
Hope you have all had the best Christmas possible in the circumstances.
365 sleeps!
