Bellini Aria

Passing through St Pancras this morning on my way home from Manchester I took the chance to swing past the wonderful piano which is the throbbing hub of the station and one of the few genuinely lovely things in London. This lady played for a while then her partner played from some sheet music. She sang. It was a moment I shall not quickly forget. Her voice was spun gold. She told me what she sang was by Bellini. I have rarely enjoyed music so well. That piano is a jewel!
