Hot... or not?

The word "hot" appears on the heat-reflecting cover of our garden heater, just in case we couldn't work out for ourselves that it might get hot, being immediately above the bit where the flame burns. Jeez... thanks for that!

We seem to live in an increasingly dumb society, "may contain nuts" appearing on a packet of nuts being the classic 'joke' example. But it isn't a joke... it's actually on there, so what's funny!? Ditto the bathroom in my hotel room the other day which had a "caution: surfaces may become slippery when wet" sign stuck to the wall.

I'd blame the lawyers myself... except that's just a pathetic excuse. We're all to blame for allowing ourselves to pander to a stupid back-covering, health and safety gone mad kind of mentality.

Shame on us all! :-(
