Glorious Mud

Still in Tier 3
I walked down the old railway line to get a Sunday newspaper. The old line is quite elevated and so not under water  but very muddy. Gives a good vantage point to see all the flooded fields, doing what flood plain fields do. Took ages to walk down and back because I kept seeing people to chat to. One lot wanted to know how wet/ muddy it was. I’m not sure there’s an international scale of muddiness but it would be up there near the top . A muddiness quotient could be arrived at by taking footwear type into account. After glancing surreptitiously at their feet I just said  “very”.
