High price
The price of this blip was muddy trainers. We walked the usual route up to the weir, then through into St Mark's Park. I was trying out the new 11-22mm lens on the EOSM6. A very enjoyable experience (I've added an extra of a view I've taken a couple of times before). Rather than coming back along the tarmac cycle paths, we took the narrow path next to the allotments, which proved to be very muddy, but provided a good blip opportunity at the bottom of the hill. That area around Warriston/Chancelot had an incredible number of railways, all weaving in and out, over and under, as is plain from our old maps. As they were built by different railway companies, most of them did not intersect. They served the various mills around that area, including the huge Chancelot Flour Mill, as well as the ports, docks and harbours. So we are on an old railway line here, going under another railway line (both of them now paths).
I've spent the afternoon sorting out my photographs for November and December and getting them on flickr. I've also done backups for this tranche of photos and moved some photos into the cloud. Always satisfying. I sat at the dining room table, and it almost seemed as if the day might just - an inch or two - have stretched out from the worst time. That's probably mostly because it was quite light this afternoon, Storm Bella having passed on its way causing us relatively little inconvenience.
I plan to start some work again tomorrow. It's been good to have a week off.
