Just a field

After the storm of last night, it has gradually brightened today with the odd squally showers dying out. It is going to be cold tonight and for the next few days. We enjoyed a long circular walk this morning from Silkstone Common. Everywhere is very wet with streams flowing down tracks and water lying on the fields, including those with steep slopes.
A long telephone conversation with my sister to catch up after Christmas, not either of us has been doing anything of note, but we had jigsaws to talk about and to moan about the political situation and Brexit. It is a year since we last saw each other and is likely to be a few more months before it is likely to be possible, if we are optimistic.
