Rosedale
A morning of baking to keep up with the healthy appetites that form our bubble.
We decided to walk along the Rosedale Mineral Railway walk. Taking in the industrial archaeology of the old ironstone kilns along the way. We nearly turned back as heavy showers lashed the car. However we were lucky to get a short window in the weather for our out and back walk. I managed to leave my walking shoes at home so was glad of a relatively dry shingle surface to walk on.
The main shows the kilns used to roast the iron stone before it was taken to the blast furnaces of Cleveland and County Durham. The extras show the new information boards and kilns. The second looking back towards the head of Rosedale with the best of the light. Shortly after this was taken the weather started to close in and we made it back to the car as it started to rain.
