House next door

Walked up the drive to get a photo of the house that is next to where Tate lives with the snowy setting. No one lives here but it recently was sold from the owner Sherrill who is elderly and has health issues to a cousin. The cousin and her family spent part of the summer weekends removing old furnishings and making some renovations. The house is so old that the only heat is a wood burning stove in the kitchen/parlor area. The single bathroom was adding on to the back of the house where a small shower stall and toilet were put next to a laundry sink..no washer or dryer here. The electric has to be completely redone to get it up to code and obviously other things need to be redone also. The new owners hope to set the house up as an Airbnb rental.

I guess if someone wants to be completely away from civilization with no amenities like restaurants and shopping close by, this would be the place. We had actually talked to the owner before she sold about purchasing but there was so much that needed done that it would take months and months and more money than we would ever invest. But it is a gorgeous old home in the snow.

My step granddaughter and her fiance did come by to see us before we got on the road to come home. It has been since last Christmas that I have seen her as she lives in a different town. I have plenty of family photos now so the plan is to make a photo book for 2020 as soon as Shutterfly or Snapfish sends me a coupon for a big discount.
