This 22p stamp is from 1990 and is on the theme of astronomy. This one features the Lovell Telescope (at Jodrell Bank), Armagh Observatory and the La Palma Telescope.

Back in 1990 I would have been at University doing my first degree and still dreaming of a life in science. I always wanted to be involved in science and engineering, but my maths was never good enough to do engineering or physics, so I ended up doing genetics - though I always prefered the mathematical nature of the population genetics side most.

Rather wet, cold and miserable in Brittany today, thought not as wet and cold as Britain, where I gather there is a serious storm blowing!
