Butterflies!
The granddaughters' Mom has pneumonia and has been home from work all week so we thought we would take the girls somewhere today. We started at the Seattle Science Center with the 3D Imax film Flight of the Butterflies. An amazing story of figuring out the Monarchs migration to Mexico and visuals right in front of our eyes.
First 3D for Fiona. She wore the glasses for maybe 5 minutes reaching out over the seats to catch the butterflies - then we had to to go out for a potty break, (!) then when we got back she wouldn't wear them so saw the whole 35 remaining minutes blurry. But she hung in there. (We had a large popcorn). Then we spent a lot of time in the Science Center, saw the bugs, the REAL butterfly house, the butterfly exhibit, and the toddler water place with Boppa. (while Tatum and I explored the wellness institute and she did a great job with the nutrition for 3 meals. ) Then ice cream in the Center House while watching the Pacific NW regional Yo Yo championship ( a first for me -quite amazing!) and home for a nap in the car (I brought boppa a cup of coffee so we wouldn't disturb her for an hour!) and a bit of play before we took them home. We missed them last week and were happy to see them today... altho I think Fiona's cough is worse than her Mom's and mine. '-she's also on antibiotics....I'm not. Now we have had dinner and I am so ready for the recorded last 2 hours of Downton Abbey!! :-)
Tatum chose the blip. Fiona actually picked up the butterfly with the tweezers. And I've put a few other from the day for the family on FLICKR.
