Corunna

Left about mid-morning for A Coruña. Arrived in time for lunch. No checkpoint at the border between Asturias and Galicia. The only checkpoint we saw was on a main road heading out of  A Coruña.

Lots of Christmas lights in the main square, Plaza Maria Pita. Maria Pita was a heroine who rallied the defenders of the city during the 'Defence of Corunna. This was an episode of the English Armada, which like it's counterpart Spanish Armada a few years earlier, was a failure.
