18km of frozen slop
Successfully ran 18k tonight after work so I had the dark and ice to contend with. I packed the camera in the running bag and about 4 miles in I quickly sat it down by this sulfuric section that was only partially frozen due to the hot sulphur. (Eggy smells) At Vermillion turn around I realized I was pretty much out of light and made the next 4 miles in darkness, uphill, in ice into the forest which was ominously lit by moonlight. I kept hearing coyotes howling and looked down at my pace and noticed Id cranked it up to 6 minute miles. With the dodgy leg last week I was supposed to be going slow... however it felt good and could have easily ran it again.
Kristen is back from Ontario tomorrow! Ive really missed her and cant wait to have things back to normal. Epic.
