The Bella Front

The cold front spinning off Storm Bella arrived in the Casentino in the early morning. South westerly bluster, 50mm rain, lots of snow further north which delayed the vaccine getting to Turin.

A thoroughly miserable day. Very low cloud, fog, incessant rain, a wind which threatened to rock our four year-old olive trees loose of the sodden ground.

I took a brief walk all togged up and poked at the last fall of the downy oak leaves as they clogged drainage down the road.

A day of anguish watching couriers’ tracking records showing precious parcels stuck ( for days now) or at pretended attempted delivery. Not helped by the fact the Google maps and Tom Tom used different street names. All very aggravating.

Two nice Zooms to help dispel or, at least share, the year-end darkness and its tentative rays of salvation.
