IT RAINED!

Sometimes in this parched land, we are promised RAIN, but it does not arrive.  Right on time, last night a thunderstorm arrived & blessed us with at least 1 inch of rain; followed today, by at least 1 more.

I grew up in tornado country, so when I heard the lightning & the wind
roaring, there was concern, because tornados form on the edge of thunderstorms.  My weather APP reported a lightning strike 5 miles away.
Tornadoes are not common in California, but climate change has created havoc everywhere.  Thankfully, we just got a long. soaking rain.  My rain barrel is full & so are several containers. The sun should be out tomorrow, along with our classic Winter winds.

This bright green foliage is from a King Sago Palm, CYCAS REVOLUTA.
This family of 100 CYCADS are native to Asia, have been around since
the dinosaurs, & are more closely related to cone-bearing conifers, than they are to palms.  They are common ornamentals in gardens here, & I love them.
