Replacement

Nearly 40 years ago, I bought a pair of "coffee" mugs from a small pottery near Lampeter. I have used them continuously and every morning for my cup of coffee after breakfast. But, inevitably, they have become a little worn, chipped and even cracked. So, this year, when we were planning our cycling holiday, I determined that we should revisit that area of mid Wales in which we often used to have our holidays when our children were small. In reality, one of my main aims was to revisit that pottery. Whilst I was pleased to find it still open, it was no longer producing these lovely cups.

And then, on Xmas day I opened a box to find two objects wrapped in newspaper which revealed 2 identical cups. To say that I was amazed was an understatement.

Without my knowing anything about it, our friend Harriet, who only took up pottery a few years ago, but who can turn her hand to anything (forgive the pun), had been asked if she could make a reproduction.
