To be burned

The grains in this log remind me so much of my kitchen table!  It must be Oak and split and chopped on the farm.  Every year there are always branches and trees  that are dead or blown down in the gales so we use them for our warmth in the winter.  The trees are being replaced but the young trees will take many decades to make an impression on the landscape.

Spent the evening in front of the fire.
