Messing with boats

Had a different sort of day today. It was the second day of the Wooden Boat Show at Goolwa, stinking hot most of the day so drank lots including locally made beer. slushies and lots of water.

A seriously hard choice for a blip but decided to go for an overall view.

Images that missed out were ...

some of the Rough and Ready Boat Race (with Paparazza antipodia snapping some images of a dripping wet Gryf Rhys Jones) and some several shots of hijinks by participants;

a lovely self built ketch (we sat on it and talked a while with the owner/builder told about some of his adventures on the high seas... (magic moment);

one taken from the PS Oscar-W while berthing at the wharf with PS Marion in the background. We paid for a ride on the PS Oscar-W and were the lead boat in the parade at the end of the Show. More magic moments.

And... just for the record. I have in my shed a wooden canoe which was partially constructed at the first Wooden Boat Show which I'm sure is a smidge over 30 years ago. Felt inspired to restore it and put it on show at the next one. It needs restoring because it has been used a lot and is much battered and battle scarred.
