Death and Anatomies
A thoroughly enjoyable day up in London, firstly taking in the Death: A Self-Portrait exhibition at the Wellcome Collection, which was very well done. I now want a bone chandelier! I would rather it was made of real bones though, like the decorations Gazweasel blipped when he went to Prague.
Then in the evening it was a lecture by Hugh Aldersley-Williams at the Royal Institution about his book Anatomies concerning the art, science, literature and history of the human body. Pictured is a bit of audience participation in which Rembrandt's The Anatomy of Dr Tulp was re-enacted, complete with false beards (which did my pogonophobia no good whatsoever!).
