Monument to Joseph Merrick

He wasn't from around here, he came from Leicester.
He moved to London where he died of asphyxia aged 27, just like Jimi Hendrix.
But then Charlie Chaplin wasn't from round here either, yet we still have a piece of “public art” to commemorate him.
There is no public art round here, unless you agree that artillery is decorative.
So this is the first stop in my very own Medway Sculpture Trail.
I'd be awfully grateful for suggestions to extend the trail.
