Inchcolm
Snow overnight and it was “laying on the ground” as Van did sing. That meant the boys had to turn up a bit earlier to literally clear the decks. I’d been over there earlier turning over a lump of frozen iron to get it spluttering into life. Then we were off. And a fine day for it, it was indeed. Even a tiny smidgeon of warmth in that sun. A well trodden circuit, round Inchcolm but this time with added derring do - through the gap at Swallow Craig. Whoah! After a brief "hove to” to allow a ship to plough down the channel we had a fine breeze home to be greeted by the spectacle of the rising moon.
Later, a film - Looted, which I’d wanted to watch before the year end as y’know a film list has to be done, but somehow the main character didn’t ring true for me. Still, pretty decent and some really great scenes.
Now, covid. It’s still here. Numbers are on the up. The NHS is apparently struggling. All these months of building resilience into our public lives and dare I say, there's not a lot to show for it. Hunker down, hunker down.
