Lunna Trees

Another calm day, this time more cloud, but there was some sunny spells.  Another calm frosty night.

Up early, and headed out after breakfast.  Took a detour, before heading to Lerwick for some errands.  The weekend cleaning was done this afternoon, and a clean house is a must to start the New Year.  Met friend Julie and headed out walkies with the dogs.  Feet up now, and the continue with the jigsaw.  Another 7 coronavirus cases here, 6 were expected from the ones isolating.  Slightly more positive than things yesterday, and hopefully get it under control.  Over 300 now having to isolate across Shetland.  We will remain in tier 3 for now, which is great, I can still get to see mam and walks.

The detour was way off the beaten track, a fine morning for a run out.  Sammy enjoyed the walk too, sniffing out rabbits along the way.  I recently saw photos of this sycamore tree, taken in the 1930s.  I'm unsure of it's age, but it was a fair size.  Ninety years on, and it's fairly spread out, and a good size for an exposed area in Shetland.  Taken just north of Lunna House, Lunnaness.
