2020 Wrap
Another lazy day - shopping before lunch, and Pixar movies after.
I had other pictures tonight, but I was playing around with photographing dripping water yesterday, and I left the camera on high ISO, so the noise is bad - if that's the worst of my problems this year though, I'm doing well.
It’s time for my normal look back on the last 12 months on the penultimate day of the year.
The year started with a virus - too early for that virus, but still the worst cold I’ve ever had, pretty much wiping out Christmas and New Year.
We combined a trip to Inverness for Robert’s leaving do, with a stay in Forres for Hayley’s second birthday - without much of a mention of the Coronavirus that was already making news around the world.
By early March, it was obvious we’d face some disruption as the year went on. This was confirmed with the work from home instruction, followed soon after by the full lockdown.
With any sort of travel ruled out, our honeymoon in Canada was cancelled, but Brian took our place instead.
Once restrictions were lifted for a while in the summer, we made a trip north again for Paige’s birthday, and again in September in a new car. We made good use of the window of opportunity we had, with us back in semi-, then full lockdown by the autumn.
By winter, the year would be summed up by working from the dining table, video calls, empty streets, and a collection of new projects - drawing, painting, cross-stitch, escape rooms, peppers, and The US Office.
The biggest project of all though, and the one still in progress, is the new house. Having tentatively looked before lockdown, we reserved in Haddington, and again hit a window of opportunity perfectly, selling Tinto Place in eight days not long after the first lockdown. One move down, another to go soon.
With 2020 almost kicked out the door, we can finally look forward to a brighter 2021.
