That sinking feeling

We ate well over Christmas. So much so that only today did I cut into the Christmas cake. A bit of fun with Santa.

The icing had certainly firmed up. When putting it on the cake it was somewhat soft and one of the trees at the edge had slid down the side. I managed to restore it to its upright position.

That is in the extras which also show the cyclamen against the snow and the flower buds forming on the quince. Daylight is slowly getting longer!

Good too to get a phone call too from friends in Western Australia. It was 41oC today where they were. Now, which do I prefer? Dry heat or crisp bright sunny days with snow on the ground? Difficult choice.
