31st December 2020
I have tried to encapsulate this year in a collage. For me, in general the lockdown produced gardening, baking zooming, WhatsApp groups and phone calls. We clapped for the NHS, cheered Joe Wickes and the home schooling parents and all the essential workers. I caught up with decorating and painting, had good days and bad days. Emotions ran high and low, the sheer joy at the prospect of lockdown easing and LC being opened and absolute sorrow at the number of redundancies. I have seen two of my son’s relationships collapse, my granddaughter with COVID, and friends and family who live on their own struggle far more than me.
The joy of returning to work has been dampened by the second lockdown, and I find it much harder the second time around. I will not be beaten however, we must keep some positivity, and whilst I usually detest New Year’s Eve (a personal reason), this year I will be indoors, with Mr L, obeying the rules, but cheering in the new year with my Bailey’s and a bucketful of hope for 2021.
It seems this is also a blip anniversary, 6 years, who would have thought I could maintain it! Happy new year to all my friends and followers, thank you for your support.
