St Mary and St Nicholas
Another grey and very cold day today but we ventured out with the dog for a good long walk much of which was along The Ridgeway. The Red Kites were out in force along with some fabulous views over the Chilterns but being such a grey day it all looked very lack lustre. The walk is one I used to do quite often but worked out it has probably been over 10 years since I have done it all (approx 6 miles) it starts at my parents house and is circular passing many many places that a special to me for many many different reasons, this Church is where my Dad is buried along with my twin brothers born before me. Whilst I do not get any great comfort in visiting the grave it naturally gives rise to many memories of my Dad, we have been without him for 17 years now and yes the pain dulls but I still miss him very much and get a bit angry that he died too young and missed so many things, especially the joy of my nephews who he would have had so much fun with and his retirement which he richly deserved. A truly special man.
