Orchid

New Year's Day! And the first Flower Friday of the year. Here's our daughter's orchid with full flowers and a promising bud. Thanks to Anni for hosting the challenge.

And here's a wonderful start to the new year for me: our nearly-17-month-old granddaughter, little Miss B, attracted my attention by saying "Granny" for the very first time today! You can imagine my thrill! Darling little girl! Poor little thing has a bit of a cold at the moment, part and parcel of teething, I think. But it's kind of good in that it's building up her immune system, something we all need.
