Outdoors masters

first day of the year—
trying to recreate light
from outdoors masters

I'm more used to trying to find light that is similar to old masters' paintings inside, in portraits, but what I saw outside the window on the afternoon of this first day of the year prompted me to turn towards painters such as Constable and the like, or the memories I have of their paintings, anyway.

I wish every single one of you, and all your loved ones, a year that's less bumpy than the last—I think that's about all we can hope for, for the time being.
