Fence post or ant heap?

Gratitude Project Day 368.

Today I am grateful for birdsong! Keeps me company on my walks and a constant feature of our days at home. I finally identified a call that has been tormenting me for months - a rufous Whistler! He gave me a quick view of himself close enough to identify without binoculars and a recording of the call and the bird app did the rest.

I noticed the fence post earlier today when we took a drive out to town. Completely covered with termites and the one next to it has the beginnings of a mound too. The fence may slowly crumple one post at a time if we don’t do something about it at some stage.
