Wintry walk.
The weather forecast said it would be sunny for part of the morning.
We donned our walking boots and wrapped up warmly as it was very cold once again.
Eventually arrived at Sutton Park. By this time it had started to snow. They were light flakes swirling all round us as we walked, covering the ruts of frozen leaves.
Blackroot Pool had completely iced over, but it was a thin layer. It looked picturesque.
We walked on taking paths which meandered through the trees at times, on a carpet of decaying leaves, which felt soft underfoot.
As we came out into a clearing by the old pool which used to be a Lido in its heyday I took the photo. It too was frozen over.
We were very amused to see a young dog (looked like a greyhound) with his owners, prancing all around and leaping into the air trying to catch the snowflakes which were falling on to him. It was very funny.
There were quite a few people out and about but they were mostly on the wide paths which were surfaced.
We tend to use the footpaths in and amongst the trees and clearings.
We had to be careful as the snow made it slippy in places. Other parts were very muddy.
I’m always amazed at some of the footwear being worn at times!
Although when we eventually arrived back at the place where we had started out, there were not many around.
We avoid the Bistro at Blackroot as people come in their cars then buy takeaway coffees before going for a walk. The queue as we passed by was long.
The car park was full, with others parked on the access road to Blackroot all the way along from Hartopp Gate.
We are so fortunate to be able to walk to the Park from our house. It takes about 20-25 minutes.
Just as we were nearing home the sky began to clear a little and a watery sun made an appearance!
The temperature had risen enough to begin to melt the remainder of the frost and pockets of snow.
Spent the afternoon clearing away the Christmas tree and taking down the cards.
I looked outside just after tea to find that it is snowing once again and the road outside is white.
Everything is covered once more.
