Frozen pond

The bullrushes are standing out today against the backdrop of the frozen pond. The dogs & I stood and stared awhile, watching the water hens & ducks walking across the ice.
The afternoon job was taking all the decorations down. We usually leave it until the Epiphany but the tree was not faring well (we got it earlier than usual this Christmas) and we'll be back at work on Monday (though I'm trying really hard not to think about that!)
A cauliflower curry is in the slow cooker now and my daughter is decorating her gingerbread house! At 20, you're never too old! My other daughter and her boyfriend called us to excitedly let us know that they are getting a cat in February! They've chosen her and named her (Mable) via zoom.
