Sleep Tight until December

I took all my xmas decs down today and packed them away, I'll put them up into the attic tomorrow. Many years ago I bought some better quality baubles which came in boxes with a little home for each one, I thought it would make a nice blip photo.

UK deaths up 445 to 74,613 (revised basis), with 57,725 new cases (a new record), 23,823 patients in hospital and 1,847 on ventilation (only data for England is being updated every day during the xmas/new year period). Per capita the UK has the highest deaths after Italy. It's reported that over 1m vaccinations have now taken place (although it's less on the official govt website). The first Oxford / AZ vaccines have started arriving at hospitals. PHE has said that vaccines should not be mixed in 1 dose of each except in rare circumstances. The Daily Mail is reporting only 530.000 doses are available at the moment, we were promised  by the Business Secretary in May that 30m doses would be on the shelves by Sept ready for roll-out. It does feel that there's something we're not being told, although it's reported that 2m doses will be supplied per week from mid-Jan. The Daily Mail is also reporting some crazy bureaucracy around those volunteering to administer the vaccine such as being certified in fire safety, conflict resolution and preventing radicalisation, as well as other sensible checks. UK hospitals are being told to prepare for a Covid surge like in London and the South East. Unions are advising teachers not to return to the classroom and two unions are initiating legal action against the Dept for Education.
