Sunset Snowy Walk

We headed out for some walking exercise late in the afternoon, which turned from a 3 miler into almost a 6 miler as it was so lovely to be in the great outdoors.  In fact it was so late that the sunset came around and we ended the walk in ever darkening twilight.

We took the decision to go cross country and it was lovely to be walking across fields with snow around our feet and a firm surface because of the freezing conditions.  I've rarely been in this position at sunset so it was interesting to see the light it produced across the fields.

After the sun set there was a lovely afterglow on the clouds to the west, all pink and creating a wide bow across the horizon (see extra) but it was this shot of sunset that I preferred.
