I’ve missed the first few days of 2021 already.
Wasn’t sure if I would continue Blipfoto.

But then I was sitting up on the 4th floor of the Christchurch Central Library looking out at the view. It took me a few seconds to realise that I had a perfect view of the Crown Plaza Hotel, and the small outdoor exercise area for its visitors.
They are not ordinary visitors/tourists.
The Crown Plaza is one of 5 Covid19 Managed Isolation hotels here in Christchurch.
The 6 people whom I was watching were doing their daily supervised outside exercise time. They were keeping a good distance between each other, there was a security person there and also a military person. They were going around and around and around.

It was surreal to watch.
On the other side of the white fence ( that you cannot see through) were other people going about their day as free as a bird.

Freedom .

The system is working though.
Every person coming into New Zealand has to go straight into this isolation for 14 days. Covid19 tests on days 3 and 14.
They have to pay approximately NZ$4000.00 for two people in a room, bit less for children.

We have no cases in the community.


I am feeling very anxious for my friends and others in the UK at the moment.
