Winter sunlight, Eastern Moors (Derbyshire)

After a busy couple of days looking after Eben and Frieda, Richard and I took the opportunity of a quiet Sunday morning to get out for a walk along Froggatt Edge, a few miles outside Sheffield.
We drove through thick patches of fog on the way, but found sunlight breaking through briefly once there. This was just for a few minutes, and then the clouds started to roll back in and light snow began to fall.   Eventually we turned back when the snow got heavy, wanting to avoid a slippery drive home.

I'm finding it hard not to obsess about Covid at the moment, and about the horrifying levels of incompetence on display by our government. Every day brings new stories of the desperation felt by health staff, as well as by teachers. At least today's opinion poll shows low levels of approval for Johnson and company, which suggests that people are not being wholly taken in by his bluster and his bland promises of jam tomorrow.
