Does the real mother want to come forward?
Once upon a time, I was interested in a job as a shepherd, so I stopped to watch. The problem that had arisen was that an ewe had given birth last night, but had left the lamb all alone in desperation.
The shepherd quietly searched for the inexperienced mother. The whole herd remained rigid. It was a bit shocked when the dog moved a bit. The lamb too.
Then the shepherd chose an ewe and brought it to the car. It could be the neglective mother. What do I know.
Finally, with the lamb on his arm, the shepherd approached us with a request to help him.
I almost wanted to stretch out my arms to take over the lamb. Go on, give it to me! Unfortunately, he had to get a walking stick out of his car to use it for the electric fence. Too bad, too bad, too bad.
