Trusty iPod music to my ears

As I have blipped a few times before, I am going to New York tomorrow. The first time I went was November 2002, and for musical accompaniment on the journey, I took a cd player and 16 CDs. Years prior, when travelling around and living in France, it was a Sony Walkman and a few dozen tapes, some of them bought and some homemade mix-tapes. Now, it's my iPod.

It was the greatest Christmas present I ever received in my adult-life. I immediately delved into iTunes and transferred all my CDs. And shortly afterwards, I moved onto tv programmes, in particular 'Rescue Me' after it was ditched by UK TV. It's been close by on many trips, commuted, holidays and work trips. It's been replaced by my iPhone, and I now have 457 songs there to add to my 1154 on the iPod. I know it's an obvious one, but I still marvel at the fact those tiny little machines have replaced the Walkman, Cd player and need for batteries of old.
